Laparoscopic Surgery

What is laparoscopic surgery?

Surgery is a word most people do not want to hear.  It has traditionally been associated with pain and a long period of recovery.  Now there is an alternative known as laparoscopic or minimally invasive surgery.  Simply, it means placing a camera and instruments through 1/2 inch incisions made on the abdomen and then looking at a TV screen to do the procedure.  Just about all of the operations that formerly required a surgeon to place his hands through a big incision can be done this way.
